ABOUT ME

I am a writing coach and humanities tutor. I work with high school, college, and graduate students and offer my clients an array of services. I take a holistic approach which honors the individual and their special talents. One of the most exciting aspects of my work is helping students to navigate the often daunting process of applying to colleges and graduate schools.

I graduated from New York University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Musicology and Journalism and spent several years working at a New York radio station. My career next took me to publishing. I was Director of Publicity at Grosset & Dunlap, Macmillan and St. Martin’s Press. Later, I was Vice President and Director of Publicity at a Division of Simon and Schuster. I am also a published author. I wrote two books with my late husband, Dr. George Weinberg, who was a Clinical Psychologist. The first, The Projection Principle, is a self-help book, and the second, Will Power, explores the hidden psychology in William Shakespeare’s plays.

In working with well-known authors, I saw that everyone, from novice writers to accomplished professionals, goes through periods when writing becomes an emotional and cognitive struggle. I left publishing and began working with students because I wanted the deeply meaningful experience of helping them to conquer the fears of writing that often stopped them from achieving the academic success they would need to pursue the careers that they very much wanted.

For over 20 years, I have worked with students from high school through the masters and doctoral level. I have also helped my American students, as well as international students, to apply to American colleges and universities and have taught professionals who sought to change careers or to enhance their skills how to master the art of writing easily and fluently.
